The Beginning · 1982
A dairy bar opens on East 28th Street
In 1982, Lisa Thompson opens her dairy bar on East 28th Street — a classic walk-up stand serving hand-spun soft serve, sundaes, and floats to the neighborhood.
Growing Up · Generations
A family tradition takes root
Generations of Granite City kids grow up on Lisa's — first cones after little league, flavored ice on the walk home, quarts in the freezer for birthdays. The homemade fruited flavors — strawberry and banana — become the stuff of local legend. The tradition is carried forward in loving memory of those who built it.
A New Generation · 2022
The family torch is passed
Lisa's eldest grandchild, Garner Perigo, takes the reins — giving the stand its signature pink-and-teal facelift and starting to accept credit card payments.
Today
Same family. Same recipes. Same smile at the window.
Still family-owned and operated, Lisa's opens every spring (late February) and serves through mid-October — 12pm to 9pm, every single day of the season. Rated 4.8 stars by the neighbors who know us best.

🚚 Neighborhood Delivery Pilot
We're testing one delivery window per day for our closest neighbors. Order frozen quarts, pints, and family treats by early afternoon, and we'll bring them to your door that evening — packed in a cooler with ice packs so everything arrives freezer-firm.
🗺️ Launch area: a small zone right around the shop (Granite City core) — if the pilot goes well, we'll grow it
